Independent music from Oregon

Songs from the Shadow of the Cascades.

Sunriver Studios is a small Oregon music imprint producing folk, jazz, soft rock, Christian songs, historical ballads, and the occasional punk rant from the mountains of the Pacific Northwest.

About

A small Northwest music house.

Sunriver Studios is built around storytelling rather than genre. Songs may wander down the Deschutes, into a smoky jazz room, through an old church door, across a battlefield, or straight into a garage amp with the warning label already attached.

The sound is rooted in place: Cascades, river light, ponderosa, snowline, late-night rooms, old instruments, and stories that refuse to stay politely in the past.

Artists

The roster, so far.

♥ K

Charles Lawson

Historical ballads, folk, Christian reflection, jazz noir, and soft rock storytelling.

Songs about faith, history, memory, and the strange places where private lives cross public events.

♥ Q

Mary Walker

Dreamy, grounded soft rock with deep Scottish roots.

Mystical around the edges, melodic at the center, and restrained enough to keep the candles from setting off the smoke alarm.

♣ A

Mt. Tabor Jazz

Northwest jazz with late-night room tone.

Small-combo jazz for rain, streetlights, last calls, and the spaces between conversations.

♠ J

Garry Price

Punk rock with the advisory label already earned.

He’s been burned, he’s still not over it, and apparently the guitars had to hear about it.

The sound

Not one genre. One atmosphere.

Folk, jazz, soft rock, Christian music, historical ballads, and punk all have a place here. The through-line is story: missed turns, reflections, faith, old trouble, and glimpses into the history books.
